Drive Thru Blues and Judgment

With all the hustle and preparation for the holidays we have spent a few times (or more) going through the drive thru. There were definitely a few times I got the side eye from an employee sometimes because they recognized me for being there for the third time in 2 days or sometimes because I ordered only something for myself. Do me a solid and do not judge moms who are getting themselves a meal and not getting something for their kids at 2 in the afternoon. That mom has very possibly not had anything other than coffee all day.

In this chaos with sweater day, hot lunches and 6 holiday themed activities to remember I’m so busy in the morning trying not to forget anything that I forget to take care of myself. At 2 pm when my tummy starts cramping because I have forgotten to eat again well I am going to go through the drive thru, I am going to get food and I do not feel guilty. So next time you side eye and judge someone…STOP! Do not be the judgy bitch who goes home and tells all her friends about the awful mom you saw. You have no idea if that person cried in their vehicle in the Walmart parking lot while their children napped because they are so stressed from the holidays and really just needs some large fries to drown in. Holidays are stressful enough and we still have a week of winter break left. Get off your tiptoes, stop worrying about the other side of the fence and maybe just maybe invite the basket case you see over for coffee (or wine) and a play date so you both can have a break from the tiny humans.
